The humble photo booth strip, the 4 little frames you'd tuck into a wallet or tape to a mirror, has gotten a size upgrade. The giant photo strip trend has reached Mall of America, with several local businesses offering Minnesotans the newest takes on the photo booth.
The idea is simple. You squeeze into the booth with your friends, make your faces, and walk out with a strip big enough to frame instead of one that disappears into a coat pocket by February. It's the same lo-fi charm that has kept the booths popular in the age of phone cameras, just with more paper.
It's also not the mall's first photo booth story this year. In July, the Capital One Café added a kaleidoscope photo booth, another sign that the 'make a keepsake, not just a selfie' crowd has plenty of places to go in Bloomington.
With the holidays coming, expect the booths to stay busy with friend groups, couples and families killing time between stores. Check the mall's directory for current locations and hours before you head over, and bring a friend or 3. Giant strips have room for them.
