The holiday season is showing up at Mall of America in LEGO bricks. The LEGO Store at the mall is running "Help Us Build Some Holiday Magic!", a group project where visitors build a tile out of bricks and add it to a holiday mural. Anyone who contributes a tile gets a LEGO Master Builder certificate, according to the mall's listing.
The event runs 4 days. It goes from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7. On Sunday, Nov. 8, the hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you're planning around a weekend, Saturday gives you the most time.
The listing also promises "a peek inside the LEGO Holiday Workshop." It doesn't say exactly what that involves.
About cost: the mall's event page doesn't list a price and doesn't mention registration, so it looks like you can just walk in. Still, check the event page before you go, because store events sometimes add limits on age, supplies or how many people can join once things get busy.
The mural is part of a packed few weeks at the mall. For families with kids who build with LEGO, this is an easy, low-key stop. You add one tile and take home a certificate.
