Bloomington trades Wednesday's 72° for a sunny, cooler Thursday near 56

TLDR: Yesterday's warmth is gone. Thursday is sunny with a high near 56, and the temperature starts slipping in the afternoon.

National Weather ServiceOvernight: Mostly clear, low 42°National Weather ServiceOct. 28 at MSP: high 72°, low 49°, 0.04" of rain

Wednesday was a gift for late October. MSP hit 72° after a 49° low and picked up 0.04" of rain, barely enough to notice. That kind of afternoon doesn't usually last, and this one didn't.

Thursday is sunny with a high near 56. Get your outdoor time in early, because the National Weather Service expects temperatures to slide to around 52 during the afternoon. A northwest wind at 5 to 10 mph will make it feel a little sharper than the number suggests. It's a fine day for a walk around Normandale Lake or the river bottoms. Just bring a layer.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 39 and almost no wind. Patchy fog may form between 4am and 5am, so early commuters on 494 and 35W should watch for low spots before sunrise on Friday.

Friday looks similar, mostly sunny with a high near 57 after some early fog. Saturday has a 40% chance of showers after 7am. If you have weekend yard work or Halloween decorating to do, Friday is the safer day.

Otherwise, it's an ordinary, pleasant fall day. Enjoy it.
