Meta, xAI, and other tech giants are now deploying gas turbine generators at their data center sites to bypass the overwhelmed national power grid. AI energy demands have simply outpaced what the grid can deliver. Companies are going around the problem rather than waiting for it to be solved. This is the clearest sign yet that the U.S. power infrastructure wasn't built for the AI era — and the regions that have grid capacity and clean energy to spare are about to become very popular.
