West Old Shakopee Road (County Road 1) will close just east of Hampshire Avenue starting Monday, July 27, and stay closed through Friday, July 31, the city said, while crews reconstruct the railroad crossing there.
The closure covers all lanes plus sidewalks on both sides of the road, and the work is being coordinated with the railroads, according to Hennepin County, which owns the road. Drivers should plan to detour via Normandale Boulevard, I-494, and East Bush Lake Road for the week.
The county cautioned that the schedule is weather-dependent, so the road could reopen later than Friday if conditions delay the work. Questions can go to Hennepin County project manager Brian Edwards at 612-237-3412 or [email protected], or to Bloomington Public Works at 952-563-8700.
