Nearly 300 business owners, community partners and civic leaders packed the Masonic Heritage Center on June 5 for the Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit's first regional event in Bloomington, part of a day built around networking, practical business strategies and recognizing what immigrant-owned companies bring to the local economy.
The event, held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Masonic Heritage Center, 11411 Masonic Home Drive, was organized by Immigrant Entrepreneurs USA with the City of Bloomington's Community Development Department as a supporting partner. Council Member Shawn Nelson welcomed attendees, speaking to the city's commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive business environment.
Ying Sa, a board director with the Immigrant Entrepreneurs Summit, said the Bloomington event showed off "a supportive, vibrant community full of opportunity—where entrepreneurs come together to grow and thrive," calling it a fitting inaugural partnership with the city.
The city said the summit highlighted the creativity, resilience and leadership immigrant entrepreneurs bring to Bloomington and the wider region, offering a day of connection-building alongside hands-on business guidance.
