If you have a preschooler who still yells "Swiper, no swiping!" at the TV, here's one for the calendar. Mall of America has added a Halloween Character Meet & Greet with Dora and Boots, running Saturday, Oct. 24 through Monday, Oct. 26 at Nickelodeon Universe.
Both characters are in costume. Dora is dressed as a ladybug and Boots as a bumblebee, and the mall's listing opens with "¡Feliz Halloween!" and calls it "a festive meet-and-greet." That's all the detail the listing gives. It doesn't post times, a price, or any registration requirement yet, and the park's general character appearance schedule only runs through Oct. 23 so far.
That schedule does show Dora making an earlier appearance on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. Those slots are listed as park-wide, so expect her to turn up somewhere in the park rather than at one fixed spot. The park says character appearances and times can change without notice and tells visitors to check back before they come. That's good advice for a 3-day stretch that ends on a Monday.
The event follows the PAW Patrol pups, who held their own meet-and-greet Oct. 16–18. The weekend before Dora and Boots arrive is also busy: carvers are making jack-o'-lanterns at the mall Oct. 23–24. A family could reasonably plan one visit around both.
Nickelodeon Universe is inside Mall of America at 2131 Lindau Lane. Until the mall posts meet-and-greet times, the Character Appearances page and the event listing are the places to check. Bring a camera, and maybe a backpack, because Dora would want you to.
