There's a new spot for chilaquiles in Bloomington. The team behind Casa Deli opened its third Twin Cities location here this week, joining the restaurants it already runs in Hopkins and Savage.
The new restaurant is at 521 W. 98th St. Fernando Gadea Sánchez and chef Jorge Ariza Peralta started the first Casa Deli 8 years ago. Their menu draws on their Mexican heritage and mixes in American and Mediterranean flavors. "Yesterday was more than just a grand opening, it was the celebration of a dream that continues to grow," the restaurant said on social media after the Bloomington opening.
The menu covers the expected dishes and a few you won't find everywhere. There are chilaquiles, birria quesatacos and a birria ramen, plus a Torta burger Cubana for anyone who can't pick between a torta and a cheeseburger.
The restaurant's site describes the menu as "all-day fresh, made from scratch." It lists tacos, breakfast burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and handcrafted cocktails. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. You can eat in, take out or order delivery, and online orders go through the Bloomington location's page.
