Temperatures ticked back up to 81° with a low of 58°, the coolest overnight of the week. Still no rain to speak of.

A high of 83° and a low of 66°, with a trace of rain at 0.01 inches — barely enough to wet the pavement.

The warm-up continued into the weekend with a high of 86° and a low of 71°, and skies stayed dry. It set the stage for the jump in heat arriving today.

Today is the outlier of the week: mostly sunny with a high near 98° and a heat index as high as 107°, driven by a south-southwest wind at 5 to 10 mph. Anyone out at the parks or heading through the airport this afternoon should plan around the heat, and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms moves in tonight before 1am as the low settles near 76°.
