Then Thursday, July 31, brought the payoff: 1.53 inches of rain and a cooldown to a 76° high, the mildest day of the stretch. Friday, August 1, split the difference at 86° with no rain at all. No records fell during any of this — just a normal, sweaty late-July week with one good soaking to show for it.
For anyone with plans at the parks or along the trails this week: Monday looks like the pick, sunny and 87° with a breezy south wind gusting to 25 mph — good kite weather, maybe not ideal for anything you're trying to keep upright on a table.
That wind cranks up Monday night as showers and thunderstorms move in after 4 a.m., with temperatures actually climbing overnight to around 71° and a 40% chance of rain, though amounts look light. Tuesday carries a leftover 30% chance of storms before 1 p.m., then clears out partly sunny with the high near 79° before temps actually drop to around 76° in the afternoon — a real cool-down day. Tuesday night dips to 58°, the coolest reading in this whole stretch, before Wednesday rebounds to a pleasant, mostly sunny 81°.
Net effect: no closures, no flooding concerns from a single 1.5-inch rain, nothing dramatic ahead — just a week trading in its heat index for a shot at some storm-watching and a genuinely comfortable Wednesday.
