Mall of America's east parking lot is about to look a lot bouncier. The Big Bounce America is setting up what it calls the world's largest bounce house — more than 24,000 square feet and 32 feet tall — for two weekends this summer: Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26, then again Aug. 1-2.
It's not just one giant inflatable. The traveling event also brings a 900-foot-plus obstacle course, a sports arena with themed activities, and an inflatable alien rigged with slides and ball pits, all spread across more than 50,000 square feet in the mall's east lot at 2131 Lindau Lane.
Hours run 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Sundays, with sessions broken up by age group and a live DJ keeping things moving. Tickets start at $35 and buy 3 hours on the grounds, including timed entry to the main bounce house and unlimited access to the other attractions; the event recommends buying ahead through its own site.
Food trucks and shaded rest spots will be on hand, and organizers say visitors can also bring their own food and drinks.
