Bloomington has a new face on its Planning Commission. Robert Coleman was sworn in as a newly appointed member at the July 9, 2026 meeting, taking the oath of office in front of the board he's now joining.
Robert Coleman was sworn in at the meeting as a newly appointed member of the seven-person volunteer Planning Commission, serving a three-year term.
Coleman fills a seat on the seven-person commission, an unpaid, volunteer body that reviews land use and development matters before they reach the City Council. His term runs three years.
With the swearing-in done, Coleman is now eligible to take part in the commission's votes and deliberations going forward, adding a new voice to a board that shapes what gets built in Bloomington.
