The Nordstrom Design Showcase opened Thursday at Nordstrom at Mall of America, 2131 Lindau Lane, and it runs through Sunday, October 11, according to the mall's events listing. The mall has added more to the lineup since the event was first posted. It now lists the Eleventy fall collection, a Golden Goose Co-Creation experience and a full trunk show from jewelry designer Sara Weinstock, in addition to her in-person appearance. If you looked at the schedule earlier in the week, it's worth checking again before you go.
The mall calls it a 4-day designer showcase built around luxury fashion, fine jewelry and brand experiences. The clothing side is anchored by trunk shows from Carolina Herrera, Max Mara and St. John. At a trunk show, a label brings in pieces you won't usually find on the sales floor. Brunello Cucinelli is the featured brand. Celine, Delvaux, which is showing designer handbags, and Prada ready-to-wear are each running a pop-up boutique. The Golden Goose Co-Creation experience is also on the list. The mall doesn't explain how it works, but if you own a pair of the brand's famously pre-scuffed sneakers, you probably already have a guess.
On the jewelry side, the listing includes a Bony Levy exclusive, a Goshwara collection and the Sara Weinstock trunk show. Weinstock is scheduled to appear in person, so this weekend is your chance to ask a jewelry designer about a piece directly.
So what does it cost? The listing still doesn't put a price on getting in. It says the event is open to the public with no registration required, so browsing costs nothing. Buying is another story: these are some of the priciest labels in the building, so set a budget before you get attached to a Delvaux bag.
The listing also doesn't give times for any of the trunk shows, the Cucinelli presentation or Weinstock's appearance. With only the weekend left, call ahead if you're going for one of those in particular. Mall of America's main line is 952-883-8800, and the event page is where updated details will show up first.
