The Mall of America's Huntington Bank Rotunda turns into a dance floor stage on August 8, when Cypher Rotunda takes over the mall from 3 to 7 p.m.
The event is organized by Cypher Side Dance School, a North Saint Paul studio founded in 2017 that teaches breaking, hip hop and K-pop dance to students starting at age three. The school's pitch for Cypher Rotunda: a platform for raw talent and creativity from dancers of all backgrounds, judged by live DJs and out-of-town judges, with crews and battlers traveling in from across the country.
Dancers looking to compete can sign up through the school's registration form.
Cypher Side has built a track record beyond the studio walls — its youth performance team has danced at Timberwolves halftime shows, a governor's inauguration and the Minnesota State Fair.
