Bloomington trades Sunday's 71° for a soaking Monday rain

TLDR: After a dry 71° Sunday, Monday brings steady rain, a half to three quarters of an inch, with south-southeast gusts up to 30 mph.

National Weather ServiceOvernight: Chance light rain, low 59°National Weather ServiceNov. 1 at MSP: high 71°, low 53°, no rain

Sunday was the kind of November day you don't argue with: a high of 71° at MSP, a low of 53°, and not a drop of rain. Monday is a different story.

Rain is a sure thing today, with a 100% chance and between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. It stays mild, with a high near 63° under solid clouds. The wind matters more than the temperature: south-southeast at 15 to 20 mph, gusting as high as 30 mph. That's enough to turn umbrellas inside out and leave leaves and loose stuff in the yard somewhere else.

Plan for wet roads on both commutes and give yourself the extra minute. Park trails and fields will be soggy. If you're flying out of MSP, the rain is worth knowing about before you leave for the airport.

Tonight, the rain backs off to a 50% chance, with less than a tenth of an inch more. It stays oddly warm, with a low around 60° and south winds gusting to 25 mph.

Don't put the rain gear away yet. Tuesday has rain likely, with another quarter to half inch possible and a high near 66° that slips to around 62° in the afternoon.
